The course will run over two consecutive days and topic delivery will be lecture based. Lecture handouts and more than 150 multiple choice questions will be provided. There will also be a dedicated MCQ session held on the weekend.
Participants are encouraged to formulate questions and are welcome to discuss it during the lectures.

Dr. Surjit Tarafdar
Dr. Surjit Tarafdar is a Staff Specialist in the departments of Medical Assessment Unit and Nephrology at the Blacktown Hospital and a conjoint senior lecturer in Medicine at the University of Western Sydney.
Assoc. Prof. Lukas Kairaitis
He is the head of Renal Medicine at Blacktown Hospital where he practices as a clinical and academic renal physician.
Dr Gopi Rangan
Dr Gopi Rangan is Senior Staff Nephrologist at Westmead Hospital and Associate Professor in Medicine at the Westmead Millennium Institute. He is co-director of the Renal Genetics Clinic at Westmead Hospital, and his clinical and laboratory research focus is in autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease.
Professor Grahame Elder
Associate Professor Grahame Elder is a renal physician whose principal interest is in bone and mineral metabolism, particularly resulting from chronic kidney disease and following transplantation. He is a staff specialist in the Department of Renal Medicine at Westmead Hospital Sydney, covering both Westmead and Auburn Hospital renal services.
Dr Karumathil Murali
Dr. K Murali is a senior staff specialist and renal physician at Wollongong hospital and senior lecturer in the graduate School of Medicine at University of Wollongong. He has a passion for teaching and a profound interest in Acid Base and electrolyte physiology.
Dr Vincent Lee
Dr Lee graduated in medicine from the University of Sydney with first class honours in 1995, and received his fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2004. He was awarded his PhD in 2010 for studies into the pathogenesis of tubulointerstitial injury in chronic kidney disease
Prof. Sanjay Swaminathan
Dr.Sanjay Swaminathan is a clinical immunologist and immune-pathologist who works at Westmead and Blacktown Hospitals. Following his PhD, he worked as a Post-doctoral Fellow at the Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research. His research interests centre on the role of microRNAs in various diseases, including HIV and multiple sclerosis.
Dr Bhadran Bose
Dr Bhadran Bose is a nephrologist at Nepean Hospital with special interests in glomerular diseases and high risk pregnancies. After completing his nephrology training at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane Dr Bose did a year of post FRACP fellowship at the University of Toronto, Canada on glomerular disorders and pregnancies in patients with renal disorders.
Associate Professor Kamal Sud
Dr Kamal Sud is the departmental head of Renal Medicine at Nepean hospital. He is also the co-director of peritoneal dialysis (western renal services) and regional dialysis center (Blacktown Hospital) and member of ANZDATA peritoneal dialysis working group.
Dr Katrina Chau
Dr Katrina Chau is a renal physician at Blacktown Hospital. She graduated from University of New South Wales in 2005 and obtained her FRACP in nephrology in 2013. She is currently completing a PhD at the University of Sydney in preeclampsia.
Professor Jeremy Chapman
Prof Chapman was born in London and studied medicine at Cambridge University before accepting a position at the Westmead Hospital in 1987.Over the years he has established himself as a giant in the world of nephrology with special emphasis on transplantation. In 2014 Prof Chapman was named the number one expert on kidney transplantation in the world by Expertscape, a global organisation which objectively evaluates the top medical specialists and their contribution to science.
